INS Valsura's primary role is to train officers and sailors in basic and advanced topics related to Electrical, Electronic and Weapon disciplines. A variety of courses are conducted for officers and sailors at different stages in their Naval career. The Graduate entry and Cadet entry officers undergo a long Specialization course(over a year), whereas, the courses for sailors include basic courses for artificers and non-artificers, mid-career courses and equipment-oriented training
